
FICAG opens up Nominations for GFTC Awards 2021
Ghana Film and Television Crew Awards (GFTCA) is Ghana’s annual award ceremony that celebrates the “Unsung Heroes” of the Ghana film and television industry – Crew members.
The first edition of this award scheme was successfully launched and held in 2016. The one night event celebrated the amazing successes of film and television crew members in the industry as at then. The night highlighted the presence, standard and quality of the Ghana film and television industry as well as its value to the economy, its professionalism and its commitment to creating unique audio-visual contents and promotion of the Ghanaian culture locally and internationally.
It paid tribute to the best Ghana film and television industry has to offer. The second edition of this prestigious award scheme for the period under review (2019 to 2020); organized by the Film Crew Association of Ghana (FICAG) has been slated to come off on the 27th march, 2021.
In light of this, starting 26th October, 2020; the Scheme will officially start accepting submission for nominations in all 30 categories. Find full list of categories on our website: www.ficaghana.com
The scheme will accept films of all genres with any official language or subtitled in English. All films presented shall be reviewed and shortlisted based on the awards’ scheme guideline set by the jury. Interested persons can find the full submission guidelines on our website: www.ficaghana.com
Submissions are strictly through our online entry form on www.ficaghana.com. This 2nd edition will not only seek to reward industry’s top players but also to empower, connect and facilitate job and market opportunities for practitioners through its numerous networking, educational and entertainment activities which will indulge key decision makers and influential businesses within the Ghana film and television industry. A detailed event schedule will be shared with the public soon.
Film Crew Association of Ghana (FICAG) is one of the officially recognized associations for all film crew members in Ghana by the Film Act 935 and we are duly represented on the board of the National Film Authority. We seek to promote, protect and develop our professions as filmmakers and to build a collaborative environment for film crew members to share ideas and techniques, to improve their craft and promote their works and the art of filmmaking in general.
